HE WAITED FIVE GAMES. THEN HE TOOK OVER.
Kingston Fatu had to wait. After transferring to St. John Bosco in Bellflower from Tustin, he sat out five games under transfer rules.
When he finally got on the field for Bosco, he made the wait look worth it.
In his debut against JSerra in October 2026, Fatu recorded 7 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack and 1 interception — and was named defensive player of the game. That's not a quiet introduction. That's a player announcing himself to one of the best programs in the country, in one of the toughest leagues in the country.
WHY COLLEGES ARE ALREADY IN
Fatu, a safety/athlete in the Class of 2029, already lists 13 offers on 247Sports, including USC — which offered him in March 2026 — plus UCLA, Miami and Cal. He holds a 247Sports rating of 86 as a sophomore, which is rare air for a player this young.
Coaches aren't offering him on potential alone. They're offering him because, at Bosco, he plays fast, he tackles in space, he gets to the quarterback, and he takes the ball away. That combination is why safeties get recruited early — and why Fatu's list will only grow.
MaxPreps’ program feature introduces St. John Bosco; it is team coverage, not a Kingston Fatu highlights reel.
WHAT'S NEXT FOR FATU
St. John Bosco doesn't hand out starting roles to sophomores by accident. Fatu earned his, and his debut suggests he'll be a central piece of Bosco's defense for the next three years.
For LA football fans, this is a name to track now, not later. The offers are already here. The production, in his very first Bosco game, is already here. The rest is just a matter of how high he climbs.
